If you are tired of crooked teeth or teeth with spacing issues, Invisalign might be the solution to this problem. These clear aligners can be an excellent and less visible alternative to traditional braces, while still providing you with quality results. Before you opt for clear aligners, read the following facts.
1. Not Everyone Is A Suitable Candidate
While many people can enjoy the benefits of Invisalign. Jupiter dental patients do need to know that not everyone is a candidate for these orthodontic devices. In some cases, traditional braces truly are your best option. Generally, if you have mild to moderate spacing issues, you probably are a candidate. People with bite issues and severe spacing issues might need to opt for a more complex orthodontic treatment. Additionally, children typically are not candidates for Invisalign, as their bodies (and mouths) are still developing. Once you reach your late teens, however, clear aligners may become an excellent option for you.
2. Clear Aligners Are A Tad Pricier
Traditional wire braces aren’t exactly cheap, but they are slightly less expensive than Invisalign in Jupiter. If cost is a factor, traditional braces might be a better option for you, although most adults would rather incur the additional cost than wear an option that is more noticeable. Of course, many people mistakenly believe that they are two old either for braces of Invisalign, but this is not the case. Whether you are a teen or a senior, you can still enjoy the look of straight teeth at any age.
3. Clear Aligners Require Special Care & A Commitment
During the course of your orthodontic treatment, you will be given new sets of aligners. You will wear one set for a few weeks or more, and then a new set will be sent to you. Each set will be slightly different to help move your teeth into the correct position. In order for Invisalign in Jupiter to be successful, you do need to commit to wearing your aligners at least 22 hours per day, taking the devices off to eat and brush only.
Aligners also require some special care. Rinse aligners with cold water only and do not clean them with toothpaste, just use soap and cool water. Don’t soak your aligners in mouthwash, as this can cause discoloration. It also is recommend that you only drink water when wearing your aligners, as tea, coffee, soda and other beverages can stain your aligners. You also should not eat while wearing the aligners.
4. Time Is Needed To Straighten Teeth
Many people are surprised to learn that you probably will have to wear aligners for at least a year, if not longer. No matter what orthodontic device you use, it takes time to straighten teeth, and that’s just a fact of life. Just as with traditional braces, the amount of time needed to correct your crooked teeth and spacing issues varies, depending on the severity of these issues. After you are done with Invisalign in Jupiter, you will need to wear a retainer to ensure that your teeth remain in their proper position. This probably will need to be worn around the clock at first, but eventually, you may be able to wear your retainer at night only.
5. Clear Aligners Have Many Benefits
The most obvious benefit of clear aligners is the invisibility factor, but there are a few other fantastic benefits. Aligners can be removed during meals, and anyone with traditional braces will be able to describe in detail just how amazing it would be to remove orthodontic devices during mealtimes. While certain foods are restricted with braces, this is not the case with clear aligners. Food can get stuck easily in braces and it’s difficult to brush and floss with braces, with clear aligners, however, you can remove the aligners in order to brush and floss, which makes it much easier to keep your teeth healthy and clean.
